How to Deal with the Deformation of Straw Hat?

2024-05-21

There are many ways to restore a straw hat after it is deformed. Here are a few possible methods:

1. Reshape it with a shaping mold or pear paper

After the straw hat is deformed, you can first try to use a special shaping mold or soft pear paper to fill the inside of the straw hat to restore it to its original shape. Then, gently press the top and edges of the straw hat with your hands to ensure that it is flat.

2. Steam ironing method

For slight deformation of the straw hat, you can use a hanging iron to steam iron the deformed part. Before ironing, spray some water on the deformed area with a spray bottle to make the material of the straw hat slightly softer. Then, make plastic adjustments as needed. After ironing, place the straw hat in a ventilated and cool place to dry naturally.

3. Wash and shape

Soak the straw hat completely in water until it becomes soft. Then, put the hat into the hat mold or arrange it as it is, and add appropriate fillings to fix the shape. Finally, also place the straw hat in a ventilated and cool place to dry.

4. Shape with a sphere or paper ball

Choose a sphere of suitable size or make a round object with paper. Put the straw hat on this sphere and use force to restore it to its original shape. Then, wrap the outside of the straw hat with a wet towel or paper towel to maintain its shape and place it in the shade to dry.

Note:

1. When handling the straw hat, make sure your hands are clean to avoid leaving stains on the straw hat.

2. Avoid exposing the straw hat to direct sunlight or hot and humid environments such as in a car to prevent damage to the straw hat.

3. Do not use a hair dryer to quickly dry the wet straw hat, as this may cause the hat circumference to shrink.

The specific recovery method should be selected based on the degree of deformation of the straw hat and personal actual situation.
